About this photograph

I photographed this sunset in the open fields near the village of Bezden, not far from Slivnitsa. The freshly cut field was scattered with round hay bales, while the last sunlight broke beneath the heavy clouds and filled the sky with orange, pink and deep blue tones. The large bale in the foreground caught my attention first, but it was the contrast between the quiet field and the dramatic sky that completed the scene. A familiar summer landscape became something completely different for just a few minutes before the light disappeared.
