About this photograph

I photographed this sunset at the Ilinden Meadows above Gela during the annual bagpipe gathering. As the day came to an end, the sun dropped behind a row of trees and its rays spread across the grass, casting long shadows over the meadow. It was one of those quiet moments between the music and the crowds when the familiar gathering place briefly returned to the stillness of the Rhodope Mountains.
