About this photograph

I photographed this scene on the coast near Hvalnes Lighthouse, during a stop along Iceland’s Ring Road. The lighthouse remains outside the frame, while the photograph focuses on the rough North Atlantic and the waves breaking over the dark rocks. The strong wind and sea spray gave the otherwise empty coastline a powerful sense of movement.
