About this photograph

I photographed Seixal from above, where the village sits on Madeira’s rugged north coast between steep green mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Sunlight breaking through the clouds picks out the houses and terraced slopes, while waves trace the dark volcanic shoreline on both sides.
