About this photograph

I took this photograph during the same early June sunrise at Kaleto, shortly after the sun appeared above the distant ridges. Its warm light reached the rocks and small mountain plants around me, while the valleys below Smolyan remained hidden beneath the morning fog. From this viewpoint, the contrast was especially clear: warm sunlight and open sky on the ridge, with a quiet blanket of fog lying between the mountains below. The rocks in the foreground helped me capture both sides of that morning in a single frame.
