About this photograph

This second photograph was taken from a different angle at Orpheus Rocks as the storm continued to approach. Instead of the wider view across the valley, I placed the weathered cliffs in the foreground and used them to lead the eye towards the darkening sky and the distant Rhodope ridges. The sunset I had planned never appeared, but the changing weather revealed another side of the landscape. The pale rocks, deep green spruce trees and heavy clouds created a much quieter and more dramatic view than the warm evening scene I had expected.
