About this photograph

I photographed the Vitaleta Chapel from across the valley shortly after sunrise. From this distance, the small stone chapel and the nearby farmhouse sit quietly on a ridge, surrounded by the rolling fields and wooded slopes of Val d’Orcia. The low morning light was beginning to reach the hilltops, revealing the gentle curves that make this part of Tuscany so distinctive.
