About this photograph

On the way to Skútafoss, I stopped above the Þorgeirsstaðaá river to photograph the valley opening towards the coast. From this viewpoint, the river winds between broad, sparsely vegetated slopes, while the two people beside the water give a sense of the scale. The waterfall remains farther upstream and outside the frame, but this quiet landscape is part of the approach to it.
