About this photograph

The Romanesque church of Pieve di Corsignano stands quietly in the countryside just outside Pienza. Its most distinctive feature is the unusual cylindrical bell tower. I waited for the setting sun to reach one of its openings and photographed the moment when the light passed through the old stone structure.
