About this photograph

This second view of the sunrise at Marina di Pisticci was photographed from above the beach. From here, the long shoreline, rows of beach umbrellas and the belt of pine trees behind the sand become part of the scene. The sun had already appeared above the Ionian Sea, spreading warm light across the water while the beach below was only beginning to wake up.
